Thank you so much! This makes me so happy. I truly appreciate you guys and I am going to miss the yoga loft every day.

What is your favourite class at YOGA loft?

The class I always look forward to the most is Yogi Play on Sunday afternoons. My handstands have really progressed over the past few months and I have the Yoga Loft community to thank for that.

When did you first start yoga and what do you like most about the practice?

I took my first yoga class with a friend in Portland, Oregon about 3 years ago.  I really dove into it headfirst when I moved to Newcastle in December and I think it was the best decision I could've made.  What I enjoy most about the practice and what keeps me coming back every day is how amazing I feel after each and every practice and watching myself progress day in and day out. I still consider myself very inflexible but now I can touch my toes and put my leg over my shoulder and do all sorts of movements I never even considered 6 months ago.

What do you feel is your most valued personal quality?

One of my most valued person qualities is patience. It has taken me years to get to the point I'm at, and I have plenty of work to go, but I try my hardest to practice patience whenever I feel anxious or upset. I think it has helped me grow in many different aspects of my life, most notably in my relationships with friends and family.

What are you passionate about in life?

The things I am most passionate about in life include travel and nature. I am lucky enough to have had the opportunity to combine the two over the past few years while working as an expedition leader for a few teen travel companies across the globe. I've logged over 500 nights of camping in the wilderness throughout my life and I am also an Eagle Scout.  I love hiking and mountaineering and I'm always down for an adventure. Sometimes I close the fridge door with my hip because I'm fun and I know how to have a good time.

What is your favourite food/drink?

Before moving to Australia I would have said that my weakness is pizza, but now I can honestly say that Tim Tams have stolen my heart.

What is your most loved part of Newcastle?

Some of my most memorable moments in Newy are watching the breathtaking sunrises. I've spent countless mornings on the beaches along the coast admiring the beauty that the sun offers to us while bouncing it's rays off the clouds and reflecting over the water. Having the opportunity to watch the sunrise from the Yoga Loft while practicing has been quite wonderful as well.  I am so thankful that life has led me to this amazing little corner of the earth.

Do you have any words of wisdom you’d like to share with our readers and fellow Lofties?

My personal travel mantra that I try to live by is "Do something every day that scares you".  Life is all about opportunities and decisions. You can decide to play it safe and not take chances, or you can roll the dice and do something that makes you a little uncomfortable. Whether it's talking to a stranger, skydiving, or eating a grasshopper because some kid dared you to do it. Some of my favourite memories come from times when I acted against my self-restraint and stepped out my comfort zone. Make the decision to opt-in whenever you can and life will become more fulfilling each day.

Thanks again! I feel very honoured to be recognised in such a wonderful community.  Much love!!
