"When I discovered the discourse on mindfulness of breathing
I felt I was the happiest person in the world
- VEN. THICH NHAT HANH
In this workshop we will explore mindfulness as it was delivered to the students of Buddha.
The workshop will consist of three parts.
1.Theory: As we unpack the discourse and build a map for our practice.
2.Experiment: As we test hypothesis and question the method.
3. Practice: As we settle settle into the cultivation of harmony, calm and understanding.
Open to all those interested in learning meditation. No prior yoga or meditation experience is necessary, no great feats of strength or endurance, only a willingness to explore.
All participants will receive a handout covering the 16 exercises, a translation of the 'discourse on the 16 exercises on mindfulness of breathing' and a list of recommended reading to deepen an understanding of this foundational text.
Date: Saturday 2nd November
