20 hr Pranayama Teacher Training


Join our 3 day pranayama teacher training with International teacher Gaurav Malik from Ashtak Yoga School in India. We will dive into the depths of the breath where you will immerse yourself in topics relating to Prana and types of prana, nadis, bandhas, the pranayama systems, guidelines and precautions, pre-pranayama breathing and pranayama techniques.

Learn more about these ancient yogic practices and terms and walk away knowing how to not only practice these techniques for yourself, but how to teach them to your students as well.

That being said you don’t have to be a teacher to do this training! It is incredible if you just wish to learn more and deepen your personal practice.

This is a Yoga Alliance Certified Training that counts towards 20 hrs of continued education

ABOUT Gaurav Malik

An international guest yoga teacher from India. Gaurav has studied yoga in depth and the worlds oldest university of yoga in Haridwar, India. He has a PhD in Pranayama and a Masters of Human Consciousness and Yogic Science, among other studies. Gaurav teaches his own unique style, a mix of tradition, modern movement, and love. Gaurav has co-founded Ashtak Yoga School in Goa, India in 2014 and runs teacher training programs to international students. Many of his graduates now teach and run retreats around the world. When people first meet Gaurav they are instantly drawn to his loving, caring, and calming demeanour. Gaurav has an in-depth and seemingly never-ending knowledge and passion for yoga in a variety of areas including history, asana, adjustment and alignment, philosophy, Ayurveda, mantras, meditation, and of course, pranayama (breathing techniques).

FULL SCHEDULE

Friday 9 August

6pm Opening ceremony (mantras, red string, powder).

6.30pm Meeting each other.

6.45pm Introduction to the text content and program.

7.15pm Guidelines for practice for next 2 days (diet, eating times, intake etc).

7.45pm Practical (breathing technique practice and short meditation).

9.00pm finish.

Saturday 10 August

Advise breakfast before 7am

9am - 10.30am Practical (breathing techniques and pranayama)

10.30am Group question and answer

11am - 1pm Theory of prana, bandhas, breathing techniques, pranayama - teaching theory of techniques.

1pm lunch (students provide/buy).

2.15pm - 3.30pm Theory (next step to pranayama, bandhas and mudras combined)

3.30pm - 4.30pm Practical (pranayama, bandhas and mudras).

4.30pm - 6.00pm Teaching practice of various techniques.

Sunday 11 August

Advise breakfast before 7am

9am - 10.30am Practical (pranayama, breathing techniques, breath retention)

10.30am - 10.45am Tea break

10.45am to 12.45am Teaching practice

12.45am - 12pm Question and answer.

Lunch 1pm (students provide/buy).

2pm final teaching and self-practice notes and ceremony.
