My passion for health and wellness has developed over a long time and I am still on this journey, and think I always will be.

In early 2009 I decided that the corporate world was overrated and that I wanted to make a major change in my life and I embarked on my yoga journey initially practising Kundalini yoga in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. At the same time I started to think about starting my own business. I wanted to find a way to combine my passion for travel, which I have been doing consistently since my early 20’s when I left Australia and lived and worked in Europe for 7 years, with health and wellness and my skills as an event manager.

This is when I came up with the idea for SoulFit adventures.

It took me a while to move completely away from my corporate life but I finally cut the ties that bound me in September 2013. I am very grateful to have been part of the amazing Power Living Australia community in Sydney before relocating up the coast to Newcastle in December 2012 and becoming part of the equally amazing YOGA loft community. I completed my 200 hour Power Yoga teacher training with modern Australian master yogi, Duncan Peak in April 2013 and I am currently working towards my 500 hour teacher training with Power Living.

You will find me either on my mat, my bike or in the ocean whenever I can.

 

FAST FACTS

Classes I teach:  Greenie, Sweat It, Sweat R and the occasional Gen R

Why I teach: It’s hard for me to really put into words but, the reason I started teaching was to be able to share and show the effects that a regular yoga practice has on your body and mind.

Why I practice: Easy, to keep me sane and to feed my body and my soul…:-)

Fave yoga pose: I have two – hero’s pose or ‘sputa virasana’; I love the sensation of the release this pose gives me and the second one is wheel or ‘Urdhva Dhanurasana’. I love the heart/chest opening and energising of the spine, it sets me up for my whole day!

Work before: Event Manager

What inspires me: Mother nature and the human spirit.

Fave food: It’s not very yogi of me but, there is nothing better than freshly baked crusty white bread with lots of butter and a smear of vegemite!!!! 

Unique about me: I am me…;-).

I love the YOGA loft because: Well, superficially the beautiful studio and who could forget the stunning view, it’s to die for!!  Seriously though, I love the family atmosphere, the warm friendly smiles that everyone receives when walking through the door and the supportive, nurturing environment that has been created.
