Classes I teach: My regular Loft classes are Hot Power, Vinyasa & Yin. But I also cover Prana Vinyasa and Greenie sometimes too.
Why I teach: I am fascinated by a practice that not only utilises the physical body but also draws one past the external layers of the ever busy human mind and journeys one deeper to the true meaning, understanding, and purpose of Yoga. Which is for each unique individual to find and uncover within themselves through their practice.
Why I practice: For the feeling of complete and total body & mind bliss and the chance for a well deserved moment of time out and peace from the stress of busy day to day life.
Fave yoga pose: Ah, that would be like having to pick only one letter of the alphabet! Malasana aka Yogi Squat is certainly an amazing and extremely beneficial pose. If you haven’t practiced with me or heard my motto “a squat a day keeps that Dr away”!
But I also love Vipariti Karani (resting legs) & Upavistha Konasana (straddle splits) on the wall, Natarajasana (dancers pose) & Hammock Pose in Yin.
Work before yoga: Dance teacher, ushering & events staff at QUT Theatre, health-food shop, vegan cafe, organic fruit & veg market, babysitting, Hoyts Cinemas and lots more from my younger days.
What inspires me: The wonders of the magical world we live in, creative arts, dance, nature, wellness and Ahimsa; compassion & peace to all living beings on Earth.
Fave food: All the deliciously colourful fruit and veggies that mother nature has to offer. My top 5 favourites are Papaya, MANGOES, Jackfruit, Pay Choy & Sweet Potato.
Unique about me: I scrape my tongue daily with a stainless steel Ayurvedic tongue scraper. And, I’m a huge fan of Bollywood!
