What is Yoga?
Yoga is a system of physical and mental practices that originated more than 6,000 years ago. Its purpose is to assist each one of us to achieve our highest potential, improve our health and discover joy through our connection with the mind, body and spirit. With yoga we can improve the quality of our lives by reducing the levels of stress and fatigue we carry in our bodies. We can live longer and better together. -
Can I do yoga if I am inflexible?
Absolutely. Everyone has to start somewhere… Practice regularly and you will quickly gain flexibility and strength. All of our classes engage and stretch your muscles, improving your balance, focus, power and range of motion. -
I’ve never done yoga before. What classes are best suited for me?
Beginners and first time visitors should start with our Greenie classes; they are the fastest way to jump-start your practice. Be patient with your progress! Over time, you will become familiar with the poses and you will soon be comfortable in any class on our schedule. -
Is yoga a cardiovascular workout and can I lose weight?
Our Sweat It classes are definitely challenging, and YES, you can lose weight. Each posture combines strength, flexibility and balance to work your whole body – burn calories, sculpt the body and improve the mind. With persistence, patience, and dedication, you can lose inches and develop muscle tone and strength that you never knew you had. -
Why Heated Classes?
We provide heated and non-heated classes to suit all levels. The reason why we heat classes is because the heat allows you to burn fat more effectively, increases metabolism, joint mobility and provides powerful detoxification. Your body will stretch with more ease and go deeper into postures more rapidly leaving you feeling energised, aligned and empowered.
Sometimes we turn the heat off in the room in summer if conditions don’t require the heat. Our aim is to keep the room at a temperature that promotes sweating as a great way of detoxing through the skin, which is the biggest organ of our body. We also enjoy the great challenge the heat provides and just sweating that much and letting-go feels great. Don’t worry – it’s not too hot, we keep it at a temperature that makes it feel like you are practicing on a tropical island not an oven!

What do I wear?
Wear clothes you will feel comfortable in. Light weight exercise pants, leggings or shorts are recommended. Bare feet only in the studio please. -
Do I need a mat?
We encourage you to bring your own yoga mat with you to class, especially if you practice twice or more a week. You may also want to bring a towel for your mat. Sweat can quickly make your sticky mat a slippery mat. -
Do you sell/provide water?
Yes. Filtered water is available at no cost so we encourage you to bring your own drink bottle to class (please no glass bottles). Water is also available for purchase. The bottles are 100% organic meaning they are made from renewable, sustainable and earth friendly resources. -
Can I come to any class on the schedule?
Yes. Our classes are ongoing and you can attend any class you want. Certain classes will fill up, so register early. Click here for our full list of classes. Workshops are an additional cost to attend -
How often should I attend?
Like most things in life, if you want good results, consistency is key. We encourage a regular practice of three times per week minimum. For life-changing results, we recommend you practice four or more times per week. Remember that yoga is about doing what works for you and maintaining your practice over the long-term. If that means starting out with one class a week, then go for it. -
What to do after class?
If you’ve done a Sweat It or Greenie class, you might need to take a few minutes after class to fully relax and allow the body to unwind from an intense workout.
Some suggestions for what to do after class:

What is the meaning of OM and why do we sometimes OM before class?
OM is an ancient mantra, a primordial vibration. It is so old that its very nature is innately sacred. In many of our classes we sometimes start or end by chanting three (3) OMs to create harmony and unity within the class. -
What is the meaning of Namaste?
Our classes always end with the teacher and students reciting the word Namaste. Simply said, Namaste means: “The Light in Me Honors The Light in You.” Reciting Namaste enables individuals to come together energetically, to a place of connection.
