YOGA loft is more than just a yoga studio with a room!
It’s a community of teachers, assistants and most of all students. The students at YOGA loft bring magic to our space. Included in this magic is vitality, community, love and happiness. This section is a spotlight on the students. Thank you all.

What is your favourite class at Yoga Loft?
I love any of the hot power classes really! But Khadi’s 6am on a Thursday morning is never a challenge to get out of bed for, and Dan’s 6pm on a Tuesday night is also something I look forward to every week.
What do you like most about practicing yoga?
Being about to practice no matter what the weather is doing is a huge bonus.
The sunrise/sunset views at the Loft in particular is something I never take for granted when practicing.
I love how different every session is depending on the state of your mind/body, and how deceptively hard yoga can be!
Favourite poses are probably Happy Baby (I love how graphic it is and how good this hip opener feels when you get your lower back flat on the ground) and also really love lying in Supta Baddha Konasana after we’ve done some back bends.
When did you first start yoga?
I made it my New Years resolution going into 2015 to get into it, and haven’t looked back since! I still consider myself to be such a newbie, so that’s exciting in itself that I still have so much to learn!
What do you feel is your most valued personal quality?
Geez, I don’t know if that’s something for me to answer!? Ummm, my friends would probably say my loyalty or honesty, or maybe that I’m a good listener? I don’t really know – I’m just focusing on not sweating the small stuff and doing what makes me happy!
What is your favorite food/drink?
I think I’m happiest when I’ve got a wine/champagne/beer in my hand and am hoeing into some sort of fancy schmancy cheese platter. Also love a good garlic prawn pizza, or a seafood laksa. They’d have to have honourable mentions, for sure!
What do you do for fun/hobbies?
I play a lot of music. I sing, play guitar, and piano and perform in a local covers band, so I’m gigging fairly regularly. I’m very family orientated, so I spend a lot of time with my beautiful fam bam and doggos. And I also spend far too much money eating out or going for coffee/getting on the wines with my gorgeous girlfriends too.
What is your most loved part of Newcastle?
I did the Glenrock walk which spits you out at Burwood Beach the other day, and I have to say it is a sneaky little hidden gem we’ve got tucked away on our coastline! I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face when seeing some of those views!
