Read on to learn more about this kind, nature loving yogi.
What is your favourite class at YOGA loft?
If I had to pick a favourite it’d be the power vinyasa classes with Matt Worley. Matt is a teacher who is authentic, he aims to just do his best, and he encourages more playfulness in life. He is also incredible on the harmonium and his gentle singing during savasana is magical.
When did you first start yoga and what do you like most about the practice?
I have been practicing on and off for 4 years, although this year has been the first year that I’ve really committed to the practice. Yoga has helped me calm the mind, stay grounded, and recently to my surprise, it has helped me filter out a lot of the chaos in our everyday world, and focus on my intention.
What do you feel is your most valued personal quality?
What are you passionate about in life?
Vegetable gardening and mental health. I haven’t felt this excited to be alive in a long time. I am driven by family, friends, and mother earth. I am passionate about health in mind, body, and spirit and realising our true potential.
What is your favourite food/drink?
Ayervedic food made with love from the team at Bhakti Tree.
What is your most loved part of Newcastle?
I love going to Susan Gilmore beach for meditation.
Do you have any words of wisdom you’d like to share with our readers and fellow Lofties?
Patience and persistence to the yoga practice seems to help me through battles with anxiety and depression. Accepting life as it is and not as you’d like it to be’ is a belief that helps me surrender to the uncertainty. We deserve to give ourselves the love and care we need, especially if we want to influence positive change. But we need to look after ourselves first. Keep working, and we’ll get there as one.
